The night He was betrayed Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper, which included bread and fruit of the vine as a visible representation of His body and blood to help His followers remember Him until He comes again. Its observance in honor of Him is based on His teaching. Other religious symbols such as icons, crosses, rosaries, and many other things of human origin are without Bible authority and are contrary to its teaching.
