The power of example can never be ignored, whether the subject be ancient or modern, sacred or profane. The great Master Teacher filled His soul-stirring lessons with examples, many of which He drew from the most familiar things around Him. The apostles likewise were skilled in the art of illustrating. After showing the tragic end of some rebellious Jews, Paul then added, Now these things were our examples . . . .” (1 Cor. 10:6.)
The lessons in this booklet are built around examples — examples of young people, some of whom were wise and some of whom were foolish. On the one hand, we see the successes of those who walked with God — on the other hand, we see the failures, even tragedies, of those who tried to direct their own steps. You will find some appropriate songs suggested at the beginning of each lesson. Others may be added. Have a Bible reading and a prayer, all of which will make the lessons more meaningful.
This is your class. Keep it alive and interesting by preparing well for each meeting and entering enthusiastically into the class discussions.
