Every child enjoys watching their shadow on a sunny day. Whether they pose, run, or jump, the shadow reflects the child’s every movement. There are shadows in Scripture, too. They are revealed by the light of Jesus Christ. In this FLEX study, Jay Crook uses the shadows of the Old Testament to point to the New Testament, showing God’s amazing plan for us from the beginning and woven into the coming of Christ. Enjoy this study as you piece together the Bible’s clues that reveal God’s ultimate plan.

Jay Crook grew up as a preacher's kid. He went to Abilene Christian University and received degrees in computer science and art, but he hung out with Bible majors. After graduation he worked with a congregation in Long Beach and with Pepperdine University. He married an ACU girl and moved to Ohio, where he served as a youth minister in addition to his “real” job. Jay is a pioneer in creating interactive online Bible studies. He also has a master's degree in instructional design and educational technology. He has taught many Bible classes from preschoolers to adults and served as a deacon and elder in several congregations. He is passionate about Bible Bowls and Christian parody music. He recently moved to Searcy, Arkansas, and is a member of West Side Church of Christ. Jay and his wife, Becca, have three great kids; two are graduates of Harding University.
