The Colossian church was sidetracked by issues of legalism and a view of Jesus Christ that was much too small. Paul made it his goal to put the spotlight on the all-sufficient Savior and encourage the readers to live out a bold faith.

In Philemon, Paul helps negotiate peace between Philemon and his runaway slave, Onesimus. Paul’s wisdom serves as a model for conflict resolution in the church today.

About the Author:
Dr. Edward Robinson is currently the pulpit minister for the West End church of Christ in Terrell, TX and serves on the faculty at Southwestern Christian College. He has served churches in Mississippi, Illinois, and Texas and has also taught at Abilene Christian University.

Brother Robinson is the author of three previous studies in The Cornerstone of Our Faith series. He studied at Southwestern Christian College, Harding School of Theology, and Mississippi State University. He and his wife, Toni, have three daughters.
