Unseen Faith (Hebrews)
The book of Hebrews is one of comparisons and contrast. The writer informs Jewish Christians who, under pressure, were contemplating a return to Judaism, that what we have in Jesus is so much better than anything they had in Judaism.
The word better is used 13 times in this book as the writer shows the superiority of Jesus Christ and His salvation over the Hebrew system of religion. Christ is "better than the angels" (Hebrews 1:4, NASB). He brought in “a better hope” (Hebrews 7:19) because He is the Mediator of “a better covenant, which was established on “better promises” (Hebrews 8:6).
In this study we will learn that what we have in Jesus is better, so much better, than anything this world can offer, even beyond what we can see or imagine. We will be challenged to live the life of faith so that we might experience all that is better in Christ.
