Bear Fruit
Just about everyone enjoys some type of fruit. If it is not a luscious apple, it is a precious peach or a juicy pear.
The gifted and globe-trotting apostle of commitment and compassion, Paul, uses fruit to describe qualities of the Christian’s character. Fruit is the result on the outside of a tree that has life on the inside. The “fruit of the Spirit” is the result on the outside of a Christian’s spiritual life on the inside. It is the product of the Holy Spirit at work on the inside of us.
Spiritual fruitfulness does not happen solely from our efforts. It is the outcome of the Holy Spirit’s life at work within us. The fruit that the Holy Spirit produces in our lives is the result of God’s grace extended to us.
